    Same Old Crap!!!

Wow, is there a movie that John Travolta doesn't dance in? And why
isn't Robin Williams dead yet? These are questions I seem to be asking
myself time and time again, every time I go to see one of these
antiques splayed across the screen like a fresh kill on the hunt for
mediocrity. Also, why is it the director or producer or whoever made
the decision, choose to cast Travolta? he charges like one hundred
million dollars per movie because he has to pay his scientology bills
or something like that. They could've saved that money to write a
BETTER GODDAMN SCRIPT!!! The end can be seen a mile away, Travolta and
Williams don't close the deal, nope, instead they be there for the
kids. Oh big surprise, in Liar Liar, Jim Carey loses his job at the law
firm or whatever, to be there for his son. Or like every other family
drama. Why doesn't it show the part where they end up in the poor house
because of those stupid kids? What do they know about the real world?
Nothing! At least Liar Liar had a good story. But what I really want to
see is the gritty reality to these situations, like if instead Robin
Williams not only closed the deal and ignored his kids, but then
cheated on his wife with Travolta, then sold the kids into the
Taiwanese sex trade. It would be raw, gritty, and true to real life.
It's time for these whiny kids to bite the bullet and find out the
truth, nothing goes their way, because they're just stupid children who
watch too many stupid movies. I grieve for the future of America's
children, raised in a state of semi-retardation from all of this crap
    pumped into their heads!

    Worst casting!!!

Worst!!! What on earth both John Travolta and Robin Williams thinking.
Didn't they have the right to read the script? Surely one of the
dimwitted comedies I have ever seen. The casting, acting (I blame the
casting for that),script, editing, were inappropriate. No comments on
direction, but I did expect something interesting from the director of
Wild Hogs. The director should take the responsibility for the wrong
casting. I don't recommend this movie to anyone, because when you look
at it first, you might have some expectations, but when you started to
get everything against your expectations, well, thats very difficult.
This is is surely the result of bad casting + bad script.

Words cannot describe how unbelievably awful this movie is.

There are some movies that are so bad they are hilarious. There some
movies that are so bad they are unwatchable. Then there is Old Dogs.
This horrific piece of garbage is quite possibly the worst movie I have
ever seen. It has virtually no redeemable qualities at all. I was lucky
enough to attend a advance screening the night before it came out. I
had seen the trailers for it thought it was going to be mediocre at the
very least. I couldn't have been anymore wrong. To this day, I regret
seeing this movie and wish I had done something else instead. The plot
is so laughably cliché and has been done a million times. The acting of
the three stars was absolutely terrible. Calling it "phoned-in" would
be too generous. The so-called "jokes" were unfunny and at times
offensive. Worst of all was the editing. In any scene with with a
"joke", the pace was unnaturally quick, almost as if the movie knew how
unfunny the scene was and decided to speed through it. I hate to say
this, but the only reason someone would say this movie was good is if
they were an idiot or were payed by Disney. In fact, the people who
gave it a 10 only reviewed this movie. Don't watch this movie for any
reason, or else you will regret it for the rest of your life.

It's not trash, no need to take it out

I don't think I have received as many e-mails this year asking if I've
seen a movie, this movie in particular called "Old Dogs". Now I saw the
trailer when the film was first released and thought that it looked
kind of funny, but then I saw the reviews and all the hatred came in
for this movie. It was dubbed as one of the worst movies of the year,
so I just stayed clear of it. But I got a couple of E-mails asking if I
had seen the movie and if I hadn't to please see it and offer a review
as well. So I finally watched it and was expecting the worst of the
worst when it came to family films and I do have to say, I was really
expecting something bad. This is not the worst film I have seen, in
fact the way the critics reacted to this film was way over the top I
would say. Is it something memorable; no. It's very predictable and
silly I'll admit, but it's an alright family film that I honestly felt
was harmless. Not the worst film of the year in my book, Old Dogs
offers a few chuckles and two fun comedic actors who had great
    chemistry made this movie watchable.

Dan and Charlie are best friends and co-owners of a successful sports
marketing firm. Seven years prior, Dan, recently divorced, married
Vicki after being whisked away by Charlie for a tropical vacation. The
wedding, however, is short lived. Seven years later, Vicki resurfaces
to tell Dan that their short marriage resulted in something he never
suspected: twins Zach and Emily. Vicki, facing jail time for her work
as an environmental activist, asks Dan to take care of the kids while
she does her time. Thinking this might be his chance to get back with
Vicki, Dan agrees, but only if Charlie will help him since neither have
any experience taking care of kids. Of course, let the crazy wackiness
ensue as these two old geezers try to take care of these little kids.

I have to admit that again, even though it was over the top silly, I
love Seth Green and the moment with him and the gorilla was very funny.
For me, he stole the movie, he looked like he was having a good time
with the role and put his all into it. Now the only complaint I have is
that the same safe ending as most family films, we have to do over the
top where the adult realizes that family is all and he has to find his
way back to them, but he never does it in a phone call or just coming
to their house, he does it in the weirdest way possible that I would
assume scar the children in later years. But granted again, most kids
haven't seen as many movies as me or other viewers who have watched
these types of movies. So I try to keep that in mind while watching
this movie. Plus again, I wish they would have cast different kids, it
seems like we fall into the cliché where the children are more annoying
vs. believable. While this movie has a bunch of clichés and silly
moments, still I would say that it's a movie that the kids will love,
more meant for them than the adults which is alright. The critics
overreacted, I've seen much worse films and this one wasn't horrible.

    4/10
